PATRICK SCHWARZENEGGER IS in the midst of a press tour for the ages amid his third season appearance in the hit HBO Show, The White Lotus. The standout actor has been a fan favorite (or the most hated, but in a good way) amongst yet another star-studded ensemble cast. But unlike his frat-broey, egotistical White Lotus character, Schwarzenegger is a down-to-earth, amiable guy. In fact, he even dresses like you and me—or at the very least, like the editors of Men’s Health.
Recently, the actor was spotted near his Los Angeles home on a light run, wearing a pair of one of our favorite running shoes, the Brooks Glycerin 22s. Patrick was sporting the subtle yet adventurous black/country blue/orange pop colorways, the exact pair we highlighted in our testing of the best running shoes for men of 2025.
Our testing editors loved the Glycerin 22’s unique ability to combine long-lasting comfort with performance. The 22s improve on the ever-popular Glycerin 21s, swapping out the DNA Loft v3 foam with Brooks’ brand-new DNA Tuned midsole foam. The knit uppers were also swapped out for the more breathable jacquard mesh, which helps create more airflow, allowing sweat to dry faster to keep your feet cool and dry. The newly designed heel collar helps stabilize, locking your foot into place during short- and long-distance runs.
Fitness and Commerce Editor Charles Thorp, NASM dubbed the Glycerin 22s the best running shoes for recovery. He lauded the shoe’s no-nonsense design, versatility, and advanced support, allowing him to use them for both intense training and recovery runs.
“During a couple of five-mile recovery runs, I was impressed by how comfortable my feet were despite being sore from some track work,” Charles noted. “These improvements make the Glycerin 22 a great option for any runner who wants to enjoy some easy miles, either during errands or training.”
Schwarzenegger’s partnership with Brooks is noteworthy. Earlier in the week, he released a video of a run through New York City on his Instagram. Unlike his pops, it’s evident he’s more of a fan of a runner’s high than a lifter’s (although his on-screen cohort might disagree). He answers questions about his exercise routine, love for running, and even his favorite post-run movie. In the video, he’s seen wearing the Glycerin Max shoes, which he says he prefers for longer runs. They also happen to be a favorite of mine—the ultra comfortable shoe features proprietary nitrogen-infused cushioning, making them a superb all-around option for all-day comfort. I use them both for daily walks and as casual, everyday shoes.
And while we still don’t know the fate of his on-screen douche-bro counterpart Saxon Ratliff quite yet, it’s evident that his real-life persona—and style—is much more in line with that of the common man. At least when it comes to his morning runs.
