ACHIEVING YOUR GOAL of building six-pack abs might feel totally out of reach. That shouldn’t be the case. If your workout plan is holding you back (and if it’s based on nothing but high-volume sets of situps and planks, it is), you need to upgrade your routine to focus more on what actually works. Thankfully, you’re an MH MVP, and you have access to this program that will put you on the path to six-pack success.

The 6-Pack Fast Track workout program was designed by trainer Matt Blank, NASM, to do more than just prep your abdominal muscles for beach season. You’ll also build well-rounded core and total-body strength, taking the focus away from those ineffective rounds of crunches and planks that might have been the extent of your ab training in the past.

This four-week plan was created following four key principles:

Functional Core Training

This program is designed to hit every single function of the core, which—along with the common spinal flexion and bracing that comes with situps and planks—includes rotation, anti-rotation, and anti-extension.

Total-Body Training

Rather than taking on a muscle-group focused bodybuilder-style split, this plan is composed of total-body workouts. Not only does this enable you to hit every part of your body for a balanced plan, but it helps to keep the time down, too.

Offset Loads

Your core muscles will be tasked to work even harder when you throw off the standard symmetrical approach to training. As you fight to keep your body balanced, you’ll get your ab muscles involved.

Finishers

These workouts don’t include any pre-programmed cardio, but you’ll still want to get your heart rate elevated. You’ll do that with these smartly designed finishers that challenge you to change the tempo, rep scheme structures, and other factors to up the intensity.
